This quick yet immersive desert escape allows you to experience Morocco’s dramatic landscapes even if your time is limited. Depart from Fes and journey through the Middle Atlas to Ifrane’s cedar forests, Midelt, and the Ziz Valley before arriving in the Sahara Desert at Merzouga. Ride camels at sunset, spend the night in a luxury desert camp under the stars, then return via Rissani, Erfoud, and the same scenic route back to Fes.

Itinerary
Day 1: Fes → Ifrane → Midelt → Ziz Valley → Merzouga (≈ 7 hrs drive with stops)
Pick-up in Fes from your hotel/riad.
Drive through Ifrane (often called the “Switzerland of Morocco”) and the cedar forests of Azrou.
Stop in Midelt for lunch, then continue via the scenic Ziz Valley.
Arrive in Merzouga by afternoon for a camel trek into the dunes at sunset.
Dinner & Berber music under the stars in a luxury desert camp.
Overnight in Merzouga desert camp.
Day 2: Merzouga → Rissani → Erfoud → Ziz Valley → Ifrane → Fes (≈ 7 hrs drive)
Early wake-up to watch the sunrise over the dunes. Breakfast at the camp.
Return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga village.
Head to Rissani, visit its traditional market.
Continue through Erfoud (fossils), then back along the Ziz Valley.
Drive through the cedar forests and Ifrane.
Arrive back in Fes in the evening.
Drop-off at your hotel/riad in Fes.
End of tour.
